Thursday, June 9, 2022 –Raila Odinga and his Chief Cabinet nominee Kalonzo Musyoka have secretly flown out of the country for undisclosed engagements.
Odinga left the country on Wednesday June 9 after boarding a private jet while accompanied by his daughter Winnie and Azimio executive director Raphael Tuju.
Dennis Onsarigo made this confirmation which he described as a short tour without telling when he(Odinga) will be returning.
Insiders told the media that Odinga is headed to US via Congo before joining Kalonzo who left the country on Tuesday.
Other sources said Raila wants to keep off politics for some days after having had a busy campaign schedule since unveiling Martha Karua as his running mate. He also just unveiled his manifesto the other day.
According to those who spoke to the Nation, however, noted that various teams would continue with busy campaigns ahead of Mr Odinga’s likely return on Friday.
“We have different teams out but campaigns also require back office management. “Our captain has dashed out in the neighbourhood but will be back shortly. He has travelled into the neighbourhood for a day or so, however, I cannot release that officially,” a highly placed source in Mr Odinga’s camp divulged.
He added that the Azimio team is busy structuring the next administration ready to hit the road running when they are sworn into office. This is meant to avoid wasting time when they are handed instruments of power by Uhuru Kenyatta.
