Tuesday, June 14, 2022 –A Lady masquerading as a police officer in a Nairobi club was captured on camera threatening to arrest fellow revelers.
In the 5-minute video recording seen by Homenews.co.ke, the lady was last weekend spotted arguing with other revelers and threatening to arrest them on the grounds of character defamation. She went ahead to openly brag that she was a high ranking officer who would summon their arrest if they persisted facing her.
“Yes…do you know what I’m going to arrest you for? Defamation. I don’t know you but I’ll arrest you…and I don’t need to know you,” she threatened and bragged as the video continued being recorded.
However, the National Police Service (NPS) has today Tuesday June 14 dismissed reports that the lady in question is part of them.
NPS spokesperson, Bruno Shioso, has said that the purported police lady is not part of their services and that she is working for the Nairobi Metropolitan Services NMS.
“The impression created by the clip supposes that the said lady is a police officer misusing her law enforcement powers.
“This is to confirm to the public that the said lady as portrayed is not a police officer under the NPS as believed but an enforcement officer working for Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS). Any claim made by her being a police inspector is viewed as impersonation of a police officer,” Shioso added.
According to the spokesman, some police officers can be seconded to NMS to help in reinforcing and training of the NMS staff and in that regard they are required to do their duty with a lot of dignity and respect.
The police service has since promised to follow up the matter. Video/ Courtesy-
