Sunday, June 19, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto has assured his supporters that he will have his rally as scheduled at Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi East Constituency.
This is happening even as earlier today, area MP Babu Owino has alerted his supporters that he also had a big political rally at the venue which DP’s team had also booked for their afternoon rally.
“I had booked Jacaranda Grounds for my function today and notified the police while Ruto booked the same venue on the same day… I have full rights to use this ground today but let my people stay at home bcoz we love peace,” he updated.
Babu would shortly state that he had decided to cede ground for Kenya Kwanza for the sake of peace and unity.
“We have decided to cancel tomorrow’s rally scheduled at Jacaranda Grounds. People should go about their normal business,” he announced.
And speaking through his social media platforms on Sunday morning, Ruto assured the supporters that he will be meeting them at the grounds today in the afternoon.
“The Kenya Kwanza fraternity and the entire hustler nation wishes a blessed Sunday to all na tukutane (and let’s meet at) Jacaranda after church,” stated the Ruto.
This clash was happening at the time heavy police presence was witnessed camping at the venue.
