Tuesday, June 21, 2022 –The picking of Martha Karua as Raila Odinga’s running mate complicated the chances of Deputy President William Ruto’s winning elections.
Tujibebe Party leader William Kabogo has explained this for the first time saying Odinga nailed it when he nominated Ms Karua to deputise him.
Asked of William Ruto-Rigathi Gachagua ticket, the Kenya Kwanza co-principle said he has never supported that pair from day it was created, no wonder, he was not part of the ceremony which was held in Karen.
He told NTV today Tuesday June 21 that Mr Gachagua had brought a deep dent into the Kenya Kwanza and this will cost William Ruto a great deal.
“To be frank, three issues that are eating into KKA in Mt Kenya: nomination of Karua, settling on Gachagua and the emergence of Wajackoya. Things are no longer the same. We are staring at a round two of presidential vote (after none of the four—together with Mwaure Waihiga of the Agano Party) fail to garner 50 plus one percent of the validly cast votes,” he argued.
The Kiambu gubernatorial candidate detailed how Karua had since gobbled 4 percent of Ruto’s Mt Kenya votes with the number still rising by day what must be of a great concern for the DP.
He and Chama cha Kazi leader Moses Kuria have since written a letter to Ruto seeking audience for a clarification on the way forward.
