Thursday, June 23, 2022 –Latest opinion poll released by Mizani Africa has indicated that former Ketraco boss Fernandes Barasa will beat Cleophas Malala by a large margin in their Kakamega race.
The polls released on Thursday June 23 afternoon showed that Senator Cleophas Malala was sharply dropping as his rival Barasa was on a sharp rise.
Mizani Africa has therefore put Barasa at 53.5 percent as Malala takes second place with 39.0 percent.
“ODM’s candidate Fernandes Barasa is the most popular gubernatorial candidate in Kakamega County commanding the lead with 53.5%. Incumbent Senator Cleophas Malala comes 2nd place with 39.0%.,” Mizani updated.
Speaking of the senatorial position, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale(UDA Party) is the most popular candidate with huge popularity ranking of 62.4% followed by first time aspirant Brian Lishenga of Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party.
In Mumias West Constituency, United Democratic Alliance UDA Party candidate Rashid Echesa 46.9 percent is beating the longtime incumbent Johnson Manya Naicca 35.1 percent. Naicca is vying on ODM Party.
