Monday, June 27, 2022 –Singer Kevin Kioko aka Bahati and Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party have, the better part of Monday June 27 evening, engaged in a bitter exchange of words after an announcement emerged that he had stepped down for the incumbent, Anthony Oluoch.

Secretary General Edwin Sifuna was the first to make the announcement that Bahati had voluntarily stepped down for their ODM candidate for Mathare, in the spirit of their Azimio la Umoja coalition.

The sec. gen. had insinuated, through a statement on ODM official wall, that they held successful talks with their Jubilee counterparts and agreed that Bahati should pave way for the ODM Candidate.

Bahati would shortly surface guns blazing denying any such agreement and went further to describe the utterances from Sifuna as misleading to Mathare residents who have an overwhelming love for him.

He even accused the Nairobi senatorial candidate of pocketing bribes in millions to undermine his 2022 political ambition which was on a steady rise.

“Sifuna ushalambishwa mita tatu na my loosing opponent to lie that I have stepped down and “you” will offer me a job in the AZIMIO government??? Unanipea kazi kama nani..? Kaa mbali na siasa ya Mathare , FAGIA KWAKO AMA UTASHINDWA TENA KAMA 2017,” he angrily tweeted.

Sifuna then quickly responded saying the Mtoto wa Mama hitmaker should stop crying like a baby and instead listen to his seniors in Azimio coalition who may give him another offer.

“Ahsante sana wana wa Jubilee Party Nairobi for resolving the Mathare question for us. We now have a candidate Hio kijana ya kulia lia nitachukua apology yake kwa Diana personally,” he hit back.

He went ahead to promise Bahati a job in their Azimio government should they win election; a statement that Bahati again faulted saying Sifuna should be knowing that he(Bahati) has enough on his plate.
