Police Uniform Created The Rift Between Ruto and my Office – Matiang’i

Saturday, July 2, 2022 –Tender differences in Jubilee administration caused the rift between Deputy President William Ruto and Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i’s office.

Addressing this topic for the first time, Dr. Matiang’i who was reacting on the recent outburst by Deputy President on Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai as the most incompetent person on earth, said Ruto started hating Mutyambai the moment he was stopped from selling expensive police equipment to the government.

Matiang’i who was speaking this during Azimio Nyamira tour on Friday June 1, revealed the intrigues surrounding the feud saying that Ruto wanted to buy police uniform through his business partners to make a killing from government but when he was immediately stopped; and that is the point all hell broke loose.

The Interior CS explained that, instead, Mutyambai opted to use a local manufacturer to supply the current quality police uniform; what then angered Ruto.

“Let me tell you something, all these insults being directed to the Inspector General by being told that he is the most incompetent Inspector General in the whole world is because he rejected buying police boots for sh 13,000 being sold by his friends.

“Mutyambai went to local manufacturers and got the boots for sh 2,900. The problem they also have with the Inspector General is because he refused to buy bulletproof vests at sh 106,083 (USD900) and went to manufacturers and got it at sh 10,608 (USD90),” the CS stated.

Matiang’i also took issue with the second in command for parading the country’s internal affairs to the international community for easy sympathy.

And not once has the Kenya Kwanza team talked about changing the police uniform, recently Ruto’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua was on record promising to change the uniform from blue to their own choice once they win election.
