Saturday, July 16, 2022 –Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has asked Kenya Kwanza alliance members to stop intimidating him ahead of August elections.

Speaking about elections security preparedness on TV 47 on Friday July 15 evening, the CS noted that it would be lies if he pretended that he is not supporting any presidential candidate in the campaigns. He added that everybody including the president, Supreme Court judges and even church leaders will be voting someone of their choice on August 9.

Deputy President William Ruto (in a navy-blue half coat) during the Njoro event on Monday, June 20.

He therefore asked DP William Ruto to accept that fact as it is because the law is yet to stop Interior Cabinet Secretary or any State official to to cast his or her vote.

He also reminded the DP that himself is campaigning for presidency despite the fact that he is still in office as the deputy president of the Republic of Kenya terming this as just not hypocritical but also an irony.

He also took issue with those claiming that he is biased in deploying security personnel for various candidates during rallies.

“I have not seen any person who is not protected and if there is anyone who thinks that they are not protected and needs to be protected, I am willing to listen to them even at night. Let us forget about the propaganda being spread out there,” Matiang’i stated.

He therefore dared the KK team to table any evidence to prove their claims that he has not been deploying police officers to man their rallies across the country.

Matiang’i also noted that what the Ruto’s camp was doing is to paint a picture of a man being mistreated by the government for sympathy reasons.
