Friday, July 22, 2022 –Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition team, has now warned that their party boss Raila Amolo Odinga will only attend the presidential debate only if the discussion on integrity of leaders will be allowed on the floor.
Among the things they want debated include, corruption, governance and integrity saying should Ruto try to deviate from these three things, then it will not be able for Odinga to continue participating in the Tuesday 90-minute long exercise.
Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed who was speaking in Trans Nzoia on Friday July 22, argued that this country has three challenges mainly caused by the likes of William Ruto and this must make part of the Tuesday night discussion in the debate.
“Usiende debate na Ruto mwizi. Ati wanataka kudictate terms and conditions ati hakuna corruption kwa debate. Baba hataenda hizo vitu kama hakutakuwa maneno ya integrity,” Junet noted saying he will send Babu Owino to represent Azimio, instead.
Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, on his part, also warned that Raila cannot attend a debate in which Ruto is attending because their integrities are worlds apart.
Also joining the calls to stop Raila from facing Ruto was former Gatanga Member of Parliament, Peter Kenneth, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.
