Azimio Candidate Shoots Opponent in a Nasty bar Brawl

Wednesday, July 27, 2022Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya politician from Nyanza Region is reported to have been arrested and charged after shooting opponent at night.

Confirming this report on Tuesday July 27, Migori County police boss, Mark Wanjala, said that the suspect, Edick Omondi Anyanga, had already been arrested following their altercation at Lwanda Konyango Market in Migori County on July 23.

Nyatike Parliamentary seat candidate, Mr. Anyanga, vying on the UPIA Party ticket – was reported to have shot one, Justus Ochieng, in what was described as a nasty supremacy bar brawl.

On tracking him, the police quickly recovered his weapon and 12 rounds of ammunition on that particular night.

“He (Anyanga) started threatening the victim while inside his vehicle claiming that he has been going against his political ambitions,” an eyewitness claimed.

More reports alleged that Anyanga and Ochieng were embroiled in an unnecessary campaign altercation before the Azimio candidate pulled out his firearm and went ahead to shoot it.

This is not the first incident happening within Azimio coalition, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, a couple of years ago, shot DJ Evolve who is yet to recover.
