Thursday, July 28, 2022 –Kenya Kwanza alliance Presidential running mate, Rigathi Gachagua, has directly taken issue with President Uhuru Kenyatta over the sh 202 million recovered from him by the State.
Today Thursday July 28 morning, the vocal Mt Kenya politician lost the millions back to the State after an anti-corruption court siting in Nairobi found him guilty of having cash which he could not explain the source.
According to the court, Gachagua only managed to table disjointed reasons over his wealth; what the court termed insufficient evidence that cannot help him get back his accounts.
Judge Esther Maina of Milimani Anti-corruption Court ruled that his funds were proceeds of both crime and corruption and hence ordered him to surrender the sum of sh 202 million back to the Government, as soon as possible.
Moments after the ruling had been delivered, a visibly angry Gachagua released a long rant on social media saying he was not surprised by the ruling since that was plotted immediately he ‘flawed’ Martha Karua during their recent debate held at Catholic University of east Africa in Nairobi.
And while in their rally in the company of DP Ruto today afternoon, an agitated Gachagua continued to hit at terh president claiming it is part of a wider scheme to frustrate his shining political ambitions.
“Mimi nikizaliwa nilikuja hii dunia bila chochote na nikiondoka, nitaondoka bila chochote. Hizo pesa wewe chukua lakini sisi tutaendelea na huyu William Ruto hadi aingie Statehouse,” he addressed.
He charged that he will not abandon Mr. Ruto even if the government seized all his wealth because he believes that is the hidden plan.
