Sunday, July 31, 2022 –President Uhuru Kenyatta has answered Deputy President William Ruto over his recent wild claims that the president was baying for his blood.
Addressing multitudes at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA on Sunday July 31 morning, the head of State wondered how he can start hatching a plan to harm anyone today when he is no longer interested in power.
He said the time to harm William Ruto had passed and, therefore, for someone to start accusing him of such a plot was not only unfounded but also uncalled for.
He added, that all along, he had remained quiet despite constant attacks from the DP and his allies; the time he was supposed to take action against them.
“Let me ask, you have insulted me for close three years, has anyone touched you? I was in office for those three years and did I not have the capability? Now that I want to hand over the government and I have limited powers, do you think I have time to look for you?” Uhuru posed.
He reminded his deputy and his cronies to understand that everybody including the outgoing head of State is allowed by the current Constitution to support and vote for their preferred candidates.
“Everyone, including myself, has the right to campaign for whoever they want. There is no reason for insults and If I answer you because you have lied. There is no reason to tell people I want to kill you,” he stated.
The head of State, therefore, asked politicians to refrain from inciting their supporters against rivals because the country currently needs peace more than anything else.
Uhuru was responding to DP William Ruto’s recent outburst in Rift Valley that the he (President) wants to harm his family.
