Thursday, August 4, 2022 –Police have confirmed that a total of four persons lost their lives in a ghastly road crash involving a Member of Parliament’s car.
In a report seen by Homenews.co.ke on Thursday August 4 evening, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani’s aides perished after the car they were speeding in experienced a tyre burst and lost control along Likoni-Lunga Lunga Road.
Other earlier sources said the four were part of MPs Campaign team and were on their way for another busy schedule.
However, one of the victims managed to survive the ordeal crash and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for an urgent medication.
“They were coming from Kanana heading to Lungalunga when the vehicle got a tyre burst and rolled. Preliminary investigations show the vehicle could have been at a high speed,” Lunga Lunga OCPD Peter Nzimbi said.
He clarified to the press that their Prado car veered off the lane and rolled several times leading to the four deaths cases.
Nzimbi took the chance to caution motorists along the busy road to be careful while using it especially this campaign season.
“For me I would like to tell them to avoid speeding and be keen while using this road,” Nzambi stated.
This is happening just two months after a filled-to-capacity campaign car belonging to South Mugirango lawmaker, Silvanus Osoro, overturned injuring scores of his supporters.
