Wednesday, August 10, 2022 –A total of seven persons perished in a ghastly road carnage that happened at Kalama Community Conservancy area along the Isiolo – Moyale highway.
Samburu East Deputy OCPD Mr. Juma Boy confirmed the loss that also saw seven others rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency medication.
The police established that the victims were in high spirits to meet at Leerata for an election victory celebration of Member of County Assembly, when this accident occurred.
“Preliminary report show majority of them were from Lorubae within Archers Post and were to meet the politician at Leerata for celebrations.
“We have launched probe into the matter to establish what transpired before the accident,” added Juma as quoted by The Nation Africa.
What was yet to be disclosed by the authorities is the cause of the crash; but preliminary reports indicated that the car was speeding and under reckless driving.
Police have now cautioned citizens against risking their lives in the name of celebrating winners this voting week.
