UDA Politician Asked to Surrender Within 6-Hours

Thursday, August 11, 2022 –Directorate of Criminal Investigation DCI now wants Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa to immediately surrender to any nearest police station over murder.

In a police warning delivered on Thursday August 11 afternoon, Barasa is wanted within six hours for arraignment after he shot dead opponent’s aide, Brian Olunga, in Kimilili on Tuesday August 9 during the election day.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is warning Hon Didmus Barasa, who has since gone into hiding after the brutal murder of one Brian Olunga, to surrender to the nearest police station within the next 6-hours,” the DCI said.

The suspect, is wanted for the cold-blooded murder of Brian, whom he shot on the forehead killing him on the spot, last Tuesday, August 9, at Chebukwabi in Kimilili, Bungoma County.

A specialized team of sleuths based from the Elite Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau are currently in action to bring the accused to book.

DCI boss, George Kinoti, added that homicide department had been dispatched to augment the teams on the ground for his manhunt and that serious action will be taken against anyone found to be harbouring the murder suspect.

In the election just concluded in Kimilili Constituency Bungoma County, Barasa was declared the winner in absenture.

He would then surface on social media to thank his supporters for believing in his leadership ability.
