Tuesday, August 30, 2022 –United Democratic Alliance UDA Party’s Paul Chebor has trounced Raymond Moi in the Rongai Parliamentary contest.
Defending his seat on family’s party KANU, Raymond who is son to the late second president Daniel Toroitich Moi only got 14,725 votes as the winner garnered 27,021 votes.
On the same note, Chama cha Mashinani CCM Party candidate Luka Kigen managed to score a paltry 593 votes.
According to the data received from the Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC, the constituency has a total of 84,625 registered votes and had a turnout of 70 percent.
It is now in the public domain that Raymond’s loss adds to the recent sad loss of his younger brother and family’s heir Gideon Moi who was also embarrassed in Baringo County where he was seeking to reclaim his Senate seat.
Gideon lost to United Democratic Alliance UDA Party Baringo North Member of Parliament MP William Cheptumo.
Cheptumo who has been serving as Baringo North MP for 15 years trounced the two term senator after he garnered 141,777 votes against his 71,480 votes.
