Sunday, September 4, 2022 –Saudi Arabian Embassy has said the Kenyan girl whose photos went viral creating a public outrage over her health was not mistreated in Saudi Arabia as it had been reported.
Defending her employer, the embassy officials in Kenya observed that what the woman was suffering from was normal sickness which required treatment and that she is on medication before flying back home.
The two paragraph Saturday September 3 statement indicated that Diana Chepkemoi (24) residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was safe and under care of Saudi Arabian authorities.
“In reference to what was circulated on social media regarding allegations of mistreatment of a Kenyan woman residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Embassy would like to clarify that the woman suffers from a normal health condition and was not subjected to any kind of ill-treatment,” the statement went.
The Embassy added that Saudi government takes serious all cases of human rights especially on people who live on their soil; and that anybody found contravening the labour act is punished by their law.
“The Kenyan Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is fully aware of the situation,” the statement added.
Ms Chepkemoi who dropped out of Meru Campus, was yesterday rescued from the hands of her cruel employer in Saudia Arabia. This was after her shocking photos in which she was looking haggard went viral on social media.
