Monday, September 5, 2022 –Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua have broken their silence moments after losing the election to William Ruto through the Supreme Court.

The two made separate statements moments after the Martha Koome-led court at Milimani Nairobi ruled in favour of their rivals Kenya Kwanza.

In a brief statement on Monday, Mr. Odinga noted that though the Apex Court had finally issued its opinion, it was not sufficient vis-a-vis what they had brought to the court as their evidence.

“We have always stood for the rule of law and the constitution. In this regard, we respect the opinion of the court although we vehemently disagree with their decision today,” Raila said.

On her part, Martha Karua also shared the same statement saying it was unbelievably shocking that none of their submissions passed the test of time before the bench; what she read as mischief in the judgment.

“The court has spoken. I respect but disagree with the findings,” she commented.

The president-elect William Ruto, on the other hand, just thanked God for making it happen for him and his supporters across the country.

“With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” — Mark 10:27,” he wrote on social media.

President Ruto will now be sworn into office on September 13.
