Tuesday, September 6, 2022 –Government has allocated a whopping sh 200 million for William Ruto’s wearing in ceremony to take place on September 13 at the Moi International Sports Complex MISC Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi.
The executive Officer of the President OP through, the Assumption of Office Committee, is already tasked with making this progress a success one ahead of the actual event.
Joseph Kinyua who heads the transition committee will be working hand-in-hand with other top State organs to make sure the allocated budget makes this day run smoothly as William Ruto officially starts working for the country.
“The primary role of the presidency is the organisation and coordination of government business. As part of his role, the Office of the President will be coordinating the transitional activities relating to the assumption of office of the new president after the 2002 General Election.
“The allocation of sh 200 million under the Executive Office of the President is provided for in the National Treasury for Assumption of Office activities,” read the report in part.
A source who spoke to this desk, broke down how the sh 200 million will be spend and, among other things, part of it will help in preparing the venue as well as paying for logistics and entertainment.
Just a few days ago, the Kinyua-led committee inspected the venue, Kasarani Stadium, hours after the Supreme Court verdict and recommended that all was well.
“The committee will also organize for the necessary facilities and personnel for the President-Elect, facilitate communication between the outgoing President and President-Elect as well as prepare the program of the swearing-in ceremony,” Mr.Kinyua stated.
Several leaders across the world, in particular those from East Africa, will grace the ceremony.
