Tuesday, September 13, 2022 –Interior Cabinet Secretary’s social media accounts have all been deactivated same day new government was being sworn into office.

Several spot-checks by media houses revealed that both his Facebook and Twitter accounts were nolonger operational.

President Uhuru Kenyatta(right), CSs Fred Matiang’i and Joe Mucheru.

“This account doesn’t exist,” a simple search returned.

This development seemed to coincide with William Ruto’s swearing in ceremony that took place at Moi Sports Center Kasarani Nairobi.

Before today, Matiang’i had prepared an emotional long letter in which he thanked the country for cooperating with his office.

“Despite immense criticism, scorn and false accusations of scheming to manipulate and interfere with the General Election, our sector put up a stellar and professional performance in supporting the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct the General Election,” he wrote.

He also added that no any arm of government had indicted his office or officers across the country; proving that he had delivered on his role.

“The just-concluded Presidential petitions and the subsequent ruling did not indict our expansive team across the country any wrongdoing. This affirms our collective professionalism and due diligence to duty. Equally, it is my conviction that those tasked with facilitating the smooth transition to the next administration will exhibit similar professionalism,” also read part of the letter.

New President of Kenya William Ruto taking oath of office today Tuesday Sep 13 at Kasarani Stadium.

Matiang’i was a key minister in Uhuru’s government where he was also given roles which were meant for William Ruto.

This saw his poor relationship with Ruto widen farther meaning there was no chnace Ruto was going to maintain him in the new Cabinet.
