Wednesday, November 16, 2022 –New Twitter owner, Elon Musk, has returned on work two key data engineers who were part of the thousands he had laid off after he acquired the social media giant.
Elon, who fired entire team that included very important data and software engineers, Rahul Ligma and Daniel Johnson, on Wednesday November 16 announced that he had recalled them to continue with their work.
In a photo he took with the two professionals, Elon said he was very sorry to have sacked some staff members without considering the effect this could have to the company.
“Important to admit when I’m wrong & firing them was truly one of my biggest mistakes
“Welcoming back Ligma & Johnson!” he confessed.
From the comments section, a legal practitioner in the US described this apology as ‘legal’ since it was wrong for Mr. Musk to massively fire workers beyond the required legal ceiling.
“The mistake he’s referring to is legal. Firing a certain percentage of people requires advance, public notice and the employee protections require like 2 months’ severance among other benefits. Just another uninformed, bad financial decision,” Ryan Collins observed.
Billionaire Musk acquired Twitter at a staggering $44 billion and quickly announced a raft of measures and changes as part of his efforts to increase revenue.
First feature to be introduced at Twitter headquarters was the monthly subscription fee sh 8 for the blue checkmark.
