Sunday, November 27, 2022 –Central Organization of Trade Union COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has lauded President William Ruto’s leadership.
Speaking this on Saturday November 26, Atwoli sharply differed with those linking the sitting head of State to tendencies of dictatorship. He wondered why some sections were already describing Ruto as a dictator when there have never been such oppressive signs.
“We are not a dictatorial state, we are nothing near there yet.
“Those who are saying Ruto is a dictator are leaders at political space, let them talk because that is what they fought for,” he opined.
Turning away from his signature attacks at William Ruto and his Hustler umbrella, Atwoli mentioned that this government is purely democratic and ought to be respected as of now; unless something else happens.
“This current government has promoted free speech, the president has not castigated anyone for criticizing him,” Atwoli added.
He, therefore, warned political players against inciting the country to start seeing the current government as a bad one.
“Let people say what they want to say but we are not a dictatorial state and they should make sure their remarks do not upset the peace we are enjoying now,” he further warned.
He argued that, without peace, no citizen can enjoy living in affected country.
