Sunday, January 1, 2023 –Kalonzo Musyoka now wants his ally, Raila Odinga, to hand over Azimio la Umoja leadership to him, citing years of loyalty.
Wiper leaders who were speaking on Saturday December 31 in Kitui County said Raila should not wait long to endorse their leader for 2027 race.
Senator Enoch Wambua added that, delaying tactics have always cost Raila victory while, on the other hand, Ruto who likes starting his planning early ends up winning. This is a leaf worth borrowing from Ruto.
“I am happy to see the activity by the party leader, but he cannot drop the ball, he should hand it over, not drop it.
“We need enough time to popularise our candidate, visit as many parts of this country, and ensure that Kenyans begin to familiarize themselves with the idea of a Kalonzo presidency,” Senator Wambua stated.
He, therefore, challenged Mr. Odinga to start preparing his supporters countrywide on Kalonzo Musyoka’s Presidency.
“I believe that Raila and the Nyanza backyard of ODM and other strongholds have benefitted from the selflessness of Kalonzo. It is only fair that they reciprocate that gesture this January,” Wambua stated.
These pronouncements are happening at a time Mr. Musyoka is set to make a major political announcement this January.
It is highly probable that this new twist of events in Azimio could create a disquiet among coalition members.
