Friday, January 6, 2023 –Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Eldoret-based LGBTQ activist, Edwin Chiloba, whose body was found stashed in a metal box in Uasin Gishu yesterday.
Homenews.co.ke, has learnt that Edwin’s best friend alongside deceased’s caretaker were arrested by DCI police on Friday January 6 afternoon.
The arrest report from the DCI indicated that all leads pointed at the the diseased’s best friend who could be key participant in the murder.
On the other hand, the caretaker had also to record a statement with the police on the killing of his tenant.
Apart from being his best friend with whom they worked together, the prime suspect, was a self-assigned photographer in Nairobi.
According to the Eldoret DCI boss, Peter Kimulwo, it was necessary to have the friend questioned on the matter and which would unravel the motive behind the chilling murder.
“We suspect the noise heard earlier by the neighbours was the time the deceased was killed,” Kimulwo explained.
The victim also known to be a model, was brutally butchered while in his apartment Room No. 11m within Kamumu area.
Police reported that the neghbouring residents only discovered Chiloba’s body wrapped in a woman’s dress in the metal box, hours later.
By that time, the body which is now lying at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital MTRH morgue could not be well identified since it had no labels.
