Sunday, January 8, 2023 –President William Ruto has settled the entire hospital bill for the fallen celebrated media personality, Catherine Kasavuli.
Kasavauli who passed on while under treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital KNH following a long battle with Cervical Cancer, had left behind a huge medical bill which the family was struggling to settle.
Her son, Martin Kasavuli, told media that her departed mother left a hospital bill amounting to sh 4 million and asked well-wishers to come in with any support so that to save the situation.
But on the burial day, service organizing secretary, Jacob Kuria, said the Head of State had settled the entire bill and that there was nothing more to worry about.
“Great thanks to our President @WilliamsRuto who has waived the hospital bill incurred by my colleague Katherine Kasavuli. May her soul continue to rest in peace,” Kuria updated.
Before her death, Ms Kasavuli had made a comeback to television screens after KBC hired her among other veteran journalists to make the media house competitive in the market.
And in November, colleagues and friends within the media fraternity encouraged people to donate blood to aide in her treatment.
Kasavuli had been admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital KNH when her condition became worrying.
