Ruto Meets Kega, Chege and Other Jubilee Remnants

Monday, January 23, 2023 –President William Ruto has today held a morning meeting with a section of Azimio la Umoja-allied politicians.

News reaching Homenews.co.ke indicated that those who met the head of State are among others – East Africa Legislation Assembly EALA MP Kanini Kega and Nominated Jubilee Member of Parliament Sabina Chege.

A source told this writer that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua led the delegation to the Statehouse in a bid to consolidate his Mt Kenya region.

This meeting is happening despite the fact that Raila Odinga is supposed to hold a mega opposition rally at the historic Kamukunji Grounds.

A day ago, DP Gachagua had called upon all Jubilee-allied politicians to join him is supporting their government.

He also challenged them to consider working with him to realize development in their areas.

“We discussed issues touching on development in the respective areas of representation… Elections are over, and we must work together irrespective of our political affiliation.

“Indeed, President William Ruto and I have agreed that 2023 is the year of work, and we have to put the interests of the people first to build back our economy,” the statement read partly.

Others who attended the Monday January 23 meeting included Irene Njoki (Bahati), Shadrack Mwiti (South Imenti), Amos Mwago (Starehe), Stanley Muthama (Lamu West), Zachary Kwenya (Kinangop), Lamu Senator Joseph Githuku, Mark Mwenje (Embakasi West), and Daniel Karitho (Igembe Central).
