Atwoli Secures Rights for the Word “Alaaa!”

Saturday, February 4, 2023 –Central Organization of Trade Union COTU Boss Francis Atwoli has patented Alaaa! phrase.

In a statement from the patenting body – Kenya Intellectual Property Institute KIPI, the vocal trade unionist secured the rights and trademark that makes him the sole owner of the word.

What this means is that, going forward, nobody will use the phrase in music or any commercial content without express permission from him (Mr. Atwoli).

“Any advert cannot use the word ‘alaa!’ unless they get his permission,” Atwoli’s close aide disclosed to the Nation.

Atwoli rushed to secure these rights after he learnt that most Deejays in the country have been using the word more often and making a killing from it.

During his interviews on national televisions, and in particular Jeff Koinange’s JKL show, Mr. Atwoli likes using the phrase to hit at opponents he don’t agree with on mattes leadership.

It is reported that he first used the word on Tv in May 2021 and by December he started the process of acquiring its rights.

The unionist, in most cases while appearing on Tv, he would either smash his phone on the floor to stress his points or hit a table with a thud.

For instance, he crashed his sh 170 phone as his host Jeff Koinange watched in shock live on Citizen Tv JKL show.

He would again smash another one in a press briefing while addressing the media on the increased murder cases in the country as well importation of guns by known State officials.
