Tuesday, February 14, 2023 –Ashabaab militia in Dadaab have reportedly murdered three Kenyan police men on patrol with scores injured after they trapped a police car with an Improvised Explosive Device IED.
Making this confirmation on Tuesday February 14 afternoon, Dadaab Deputy County Commissioner Kipkirui Siele said this incident took place along Dadaab – Garissa Road when the Border Patrol Unit BPU officers from Abdi Suku Camp were on their way to Garissa.
“We have reports of a police vehicle hit by an explosive but I am yet to know the exact number of casualties,” Mr Siele said this by phone.
A sad state of affairs was painted by horrifying images of an intensely damaged police vehicle with bodies scattered on the road. The car had also been turned upside down.
A huge depression could also be seen on the road and which was created by the deadly explosive that spared nothing around it.
Terror group Alshabaab has been causing similar attacks in the country leaving quite a number of police officers dead.
For example, recently, unending attacks in both Garissa and Lamu counties had forced government to deploy reinforcement teams and, at the same time, ordered suspension of construction of the crucial Kenya – South Sudan and Ethiopia.
