Saturday, February 18, 2023 –News about former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu regretting having supported Orange Party boss Raila Odinga went viral on the better part of Saturday February 18 afternoon.
A section of social media users on both Facebook and Twitter widely shared a screenshot post allegedly from Ms Ngilu in which she was furious and regretting having wasted both her money and time supporting someone who was poised to lose election.
She went on to claim that this happened after being misled by some State operatives who new Raila won’t be allowed on the throne.
“I was misled not to SEEK re-election as Kitui Governor, I realised TOO LATE that Azimio will not win election, but we were FORCED to push on and campaign for a lost project, we all knew from the word go that Raila will LOSE to William Ruto,” the post alleged to be from Ngilu read.
Reacting to the post, one Stephen Mutoro said the famous politician could be going through a lot after losing both the county and the national seat.
“Is Mama Charity Ngilu blaming Raila Odinga for failing to go for the second term as Governor of Kitui? Sounds like it’s a fool’s day prank! This was one decision that Steve Kalonzo Musyoka truly won – to have persuaded RAO to have only Wiper Governors run under Azimio Coalition,” Stephen Mutoro tagged along.
Other users like Bianca and Wilson Songa also ridiculed Ngilu for what she could be going through after her miscalculation that has since cost her plum leadership role.
“Charity Kaluki Ngilu used to throw abusive language towards Ruto Not knowing that One Does Not blindly follow a Retiring friend. Even if RUTO is that desperate to build good relationship with everybody, this one is a Big JOKE,” Wilson Mbugua reacted.
But renowned political analyst Prof Herman Manyora cautioned those happily spreading the false post that they will also soon fall victim of cyber falsehood.
“Your time too will come” Manyora stated and tagged Bianca.
Ms Ngilu dropped her gubernatorial ambitions for Raila’s promises in the government but after Raila lost, she went completely silent.
