Wednesday, March 1, 2023 –Francis Gachuri, longtime reporter at Citizen Tv, has now quit job for a government role in Kenya Kwanza administration.
Sources spoke to this writer about his next move and intimated that the seasoned journalist will be joining Ministry of Interior in the capacity of a senior Communication Officer SCO.
He has been appointed as head of Communication in the Ministry currently headed by Professor Kithure Kindiki.
“This could be true,” one of the sources who sought anonymity affirmed to a reporter.
When tried to be reached for a comment, the NewsGang panelist remained cagey with the details as he could neither confirm nor deny.
Mr. Gachuri will be responsible for creating, delivering and evaluating communication activities that lead to the effective positioning and promotion of trust within the Ministry of Interior.
While at the Royal Media Services RMS Citizen TV, Gachuri served in various capacities including being Senior Political Reporter, Editor, and Commentator on News Gang programme that still runs todate.
At Inooro TV, Gachuri also worked as a News Presenter, where he hosted a programme Kiririmbi that broadcasts between 8PM and 9PM in complete Kikuyu dialect.
The journalist has been a good combination with Yvonne Okwara Matole, Linus Kaikai, Jamila Mohamed and Joe Ageyo who also left for NTV.
