Thursday, March 9, 2023 –A section of Kenyans on social media have slammed newly-appointed United Democratic Alliance UDA Party Secretary General Cleophas Malala over his latest conduct.
This is after the youthful politician went on verbal attacks against both those who are government and those who are not.
He started by warning some top State officers to vacate office if they were not willing to relinquish their party positions so that to fully focus on helping President William Ruto run government.
“I Have no time to speak to Moses Wetang’ula, Alfred Mutua and Amason Kingi because they are still party leaders elsewhere. Let them resign their positions,” he fired in his first presser after elevation into the office of Sec. Gen.
A day later, the former Kakamega County senator bragged that for anybody to meet President William Ruto, he must first clear with him adding that he was now the de facto government spokesperson.
“You will have to clear with me first before I allow you to meet President Ruto. I am the spokesperson by virtue of being the ruling party’s secretary general,” he told Raila in an interview on Citizen Tv.
But this saw hundreds of social media users take him-on for what they termed as lack of respect even before dust settled.
“My friend you were cleared and died politically in Kakamega. You now want to be relevant but that’s hot air,” Ben Lanek said.
Another user by the name Seth Oniala discovered that Malala is struggling with relevance after being rejected in Kakamega County.
“People of Kakamega rejected you so who are to meet Raila,” Seth Oniala observed same sentiments shared by Malachi.
Nonetheless, one Pavel Oimeke held completely different views on the politician saying it is a good start for the former senator after days of living in the cold.
“I like the spirit of resurrected Cleo Malala… Cleophas Malala is very hard working and HE President Williams Ruto is right in appointing him,” Oimeke commented.
Mr. Malala was, recently, made the ruling party secretary general; a position that has seen him fly around the country for rallies and press briefings.
