Thursday, March 9, 2023 –Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and his rival Kanini Kega showed up in the same political meeting held on Thursday March 9.
This saw their respective supporters take sides with Kioni-allied youth overwhelming Kega’s boys hence chasing him away in a meeting organized at the National Museum Center on Thursday, March 9 to discuss democracy and leadership.
Kega, who is now aligned with President William Ruto, wanted to claim his new role in the party but this was quickly cut short by the other faction.
A local channel reporting on the matter confirmed that the rowdy youth confronted Mr. Kega, forcing him to scamper for his safety.
They reminded him that he has a role at the East African Legislative Assembly EALA and should therefore focus his energy there.
Shortly, he held a counter press conference, in which he accused Kiono of engineering his unceremonious Thursday ejection.
“We have never seen something like this. This is not the Jubilee we know. We will not relent, anyway,” Kega lamented.
A visibly angry Kega claimed that his ejection from the meeting was well-planned yesterday Wednesday March 8 by those he accused of not being able to entertain divergent opinions.
The politician was elected Jubilee Party SG in a controversial meeting held in Nakuru by rival camp which also comprises of MP Sabina Chege.
