Monday, March 20, 2023 –The opposition camp will hold countrywide protests every Monday of the week, their leader, Raila Odinga, has announced.
Speaking shortly after joining the supporters in Eastleigh on Monday March 20 afternoon, Odinga said he will always be on the frontline to help millions of suffering Kenyans pile pressure on the government of William Ruto to act on their demands.
He cautioned the police against using force on his supporters saying that will also not stop his struggle to liberate the country from incompetent leadership
He was announcing these minutes after his convoy was teargassed while leaving the Serena Hotel gates for a planned conference with his city supporters.
“We stated that today was a public holiday to allow us to protest. We have started a war. Every Monday, we will be out protesting, are we in agreement?”
“The war has started and it will not end until Kenyans get what they rightfully deserve,” Raila declared atop his car.
Narc-Kenya’s Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and Raila’s daughter Winnie Odinga were part of the protests.
They experienced a fight with the police who attempted to block them from leaving Serena Hotel.
Police sprayed water as well as teargas at their cars parked at Serena gates.
