Thursday, April 6, 2023 –Raila Odinga has finally picked a team of seven minds to steer ahead his talks with President William Ruto.
The seven, according to the opposition leader, will help him in engaging government side in what has been highly regarded as bipartisan negotiations.
The names picked during their Parliamentary Group PG meeting include, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina, Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna, Kitui senator Enoch Wambua and Malindi MP Amina Mnyanzi.
Others are Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo, Pokot South MP David PKosing and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo.
The team was picked during the Azimio la Umoja parliamentary group meeting that took place in Machakos County on Thursday April 6 noon.
Mr. Odinga was urged by President William Ruto to call off public demonstrations so that they can start talks on what can be fixed and what cannot.
“Considering the matters raised on this particular subject, I suggest a bi-partisan engagement in Parliament on the reconstitution of the IEBC panel within the parameters of the law and the constitution,” Ruto said in his Statehouse address.
On the other hand, the Azimio boss who was addressing from his Capitol Hill office maintained they will have to go back to their demos should Ruto and his camp fail to take them seriously.
