Friday, April 14, 2023 –Government reportedly sent Director of Public Prosecution DPP Noordin Haji to meet Raila Odinga’s side for a truce.

Asked to make this confirmation, Mr. Haji simply poured cold water on the claims which he termed as strange.

“Boss I don’t know what you are speaking about,” he responded to NTv.

Former Kakamega Governor and now Azimio Executive Council Chairman Wycliffe Oparanya would be sought for clarification on the matter and told the media that the rumour could be correct but what is more important is that the government side first approached Odinga for the truce.

He disclosed that there was a group of persons which came to them, then others added from both sides, sat together and talked about it before Raila called off the demonstrations.

“I can’t deny now that you have started it. A few people started talking then the camps added to five persons each and that is what resulted in President William Ruto and Raila Odinga’s public address that saw the protests called off.

“But you must know that the request came from the other side,” Oparanya added.

Today Friday while addressing in a rally, President William Ruto continued encouraging the opposition to refrain from going back to the streets so that bipartisan talks can take shape.

He promised that the seven Members of Parliament MPs from both sides, will definitely come up with helpful ideas and solutions on how to iron out the current differences between opposition and his government.
