Thursday, April 27, 2023 –Gachagua family has come out to defend places of worship after detectives started arresting some rogue players within the Ministry of God.
In a clear-worded statement seen by this writer, Pastor Dorcas warned that the country could be headed toward a wrong direction should it emerge that every pastor is profiled and criminalised amid the ongoing spiritual confusion in the country.
She went ahead to implore law and order agencies to strictly follow the legal structures when dealing with such a matter which she described as’ too delicate’.
“We cannot stand there and say because one Christian has been caught in a compromising situation, the whole body of Christ should be condemned. A criminal is a criminal, a terrorist is a terrorist, a murderer is a murderer.
“Let them be taken through the law and be prosecuted if they are guilty. Let them be put behind bars,” she remarked further.
Mrs Gachagua was weighing in on the matter hours after her husband and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua defended the church from blanket criticism.
Speaking during a meeting with multi-sectoral leaders today, DP Gachagua cautioned Kenyans against fighting every church over a mistake of one or two rogue players.
“The case in Kilifi showed that, like any other segment of society, even the church has some wrong people. But we cannot condemn the entire church because of the activities of two or three pastors,” Mr. Gachagua commented.
He argued that the Shakahola massacre, just like any other community, had produced one or two evil spiritual players who will have to go through the courts to ascertain their involvement in crimes.
The two, Gachagua and wife, were speaking this in reaction to the Thursday April 27 arrest of Mombasa-based Pastor Ezekiel Odero whose alleged photos with Dorcas have been widely shared online.
