Tuesday, May 2, 2023 –A group of goons have torched a public service vehicle, a bus, along Ngong Road during the ongoing Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya demonstrations.
Though this saw blame game ensue between the ruling regime and the opposition, police who arrived at the scene had not expounded on the matter.
The bus was captured in flames with no passenger on board and it had no number plate embedded anywhere on it.
“Raila’s insurgency burns first bus in their assault on Nairobi this morning,” Lawyer Ahamednasir Abdullahi reported.
He would be supported by Chief Administrative Secretary CAS Interior Millicent Omanga who called out Azimio leader Raila Odinga for creating the chaos.
“The lord of poverty & destruction has done it again as his Protesters burn down a PSV bus on Ngong road. Is that what they call peaceful demonstrations?” Omanga claimed.
But they were quickly laughed off by the opposition which clarified that the tactics used by the government were aimed at painting them in bad faith.
The opposition would also cautioned supporters against turning destructive as Azimio enters another wake of protests around the City.
“Our members and supporters and the entire Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition family is hereby advised not to fall for the barefaced antics by our opposition which are aimed at portraying our side as violent. We know their tricks and with time they will be ashamed,” ODM wall read.
During the Tuesday May 2 demos, a trailer was also set ablaze on Southern Bypass but in both cases, there was no casualties reported.
