Friday, May 5, 2023 –Gospel singer Daddy Owen is regretting doing a wedding for his estranged wife, Farida Wambui.
Speaking in an interview with a local publication on Friday May 5, the System ya Kapungala crooner said he was wrong holding a white wedding for his former wife who ditched him for another rich man in Naivasha.
“I have learned my lessons,” he said. “If I ever do a wedding again, it will be a low key affair or none at all.
“Given a chance, I would choose to come-we-stay,” he said. “We don’t look forward to weddings as men,” Owen said.
Asked to explain how far after parting ways with the former wife, the singer only said he is not seeing anyone for now.
Despite being under immense pressure to find another lady and settle down with, Owen noted that it takes time to heal and start again.
Given a choice, the Vanity hitmaker added, he would pick a girl from the village and not those living in the city.
He revealed that both his mother and the entire family are not happy when he visits them alone despite having wedded a Kikuyu lady, a few years ago.
“She (my mother) tells me to hire someone just to stop walking alone at home. She is worried that I live alone, I walk alone,” he said.
He is, however, not ready to jump into a new relationship just to please anybody after having gone through a painful marriage breakup with a woman he loved.
Daddy Owen born Owen Mwatia is younger sibling to gospel pioneer rapper Rufftone born Roy Smith Mwatia.
They come from Kakamega County in Western Kenya.
