Friday, May 5, 2023 –Head of State William Ruto has left the country for the United Kingdom UK event.
Ruto jetted out of the country via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA to join other world leaders at the official coronation of King Charles III to take place on Saturday May 6.
Statehouse Spokesman Hussein Mohamed made this confirmation saying that his boss had been invited by the King.
“At the invitation of the King, President Ruto will attend the historic event to be held at Westminster Abbey and presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby,” the statement read in part.
After the event, he will meet Netherlands and Israel leaders for a session of bilateral discussions among the countries.
Next day on Sunday May 7, President William Ruto will fly to Netherlands to meet with His Majesty King Willem-Alexander.
Among other things, the leaders will explore new areas of cooperation and strengthen existing partnerships between the two countries in critical areas such as trade and Investment, development cooperation and multilateral fora.
In Israel following the invitation from Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu, Dr. Ruto will spend there two days holding high-level bilateral meetings and to discuss areas of mutual interest, including technology and Innovation, manufacturing, agriculture and defence.
He will then walk around several agricultural projects in the country renowned for its mega strides in commercial farming and irrigation.
The President will not hesitate to have a sitting with business community in Israel with a plan to pitch his country as the best business destination.
