Friday, May 19, 2023 –President William Ruto has today pledged to take full responsibility of loss of public resources through corruption and under-dealings.
Speaking on Friday May 19 during the funeral service of Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie’s father David Waweru at Kandara in Murang’a, Ruto fired a warning shot at his juniors in government who could be planning to steal public money through cutting deals.
“I will take personal responsibility of the accountability of resources of Kenya.
“No tax will be misused, and if one tries, he will meet with me. I have no other job after my swearing in now about eight months ago,” Ruto warned.
President William Ruto added that he had already sat down both his friends and other persons in public offices and warned them of dire consequences in case of theft of public resources.
“I have told my friends and others that we can be friends but money meant for the public is a no go zone,” Ruto further charged.
He used the opportunity to pledge a total of sh 300,000 million to fast-track the construction and upgrading of two hospitals in Murang’a County.
He also promised to ensure that his government absorbs at least 35,000 teachers every year until there is no shortage of teaching staff in schools.
The head of State described the late David Waweru as a leader and a teacher who dedicated his entire life to serving people.
