Saturday, June 17, 2023 –Chewani Member of County Assembly MCA Hamisi Iddi Deye has been confirmed dead following a grisly road crash.
His party, United Democratic Alliance UDA, on Saturday, June 17, sent a message of condolence to the family saying the late passed away in a tragic accident.
UDA announced that the politician, who was attached to the Tana River County Assembly, died along the Malindi-Garsen Road.
“The party and the people of Chewani ward have lost a focused and dedicated leader who put the interests of his people first.
“During this moment of grief, we pray for the soul of the departed, his family, and the people of Chewani ward,” the UDA statement read in part.
He was the majority leader in the Tana River County Assembly and whom UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala has described as a diligent leader.
“This morning, we receive the sad news of the untimely demise on Hamisi Iddi Deye, (Ndoyeni), our member of the County Assembly, Chewani Ward, Galole Constituency, Tana River County.
“His death, a result of a grisly road accident along the Garsen Road, robs his family, friends, relatives and the people of Tana River, a leader, father, husband and friend from whom the hope of a better future was guaranteed,” UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala confirmed.
What exactly happened before he crashed on the Highway was yet to be made public.
