Tuesday, June 20, 2023 – George Muigai common by stage name rapper Madtraxx has, for the first time, revealed what exactly led to their music group ‘The Kansoul’ breaking up.
Speaking on a local channel today Tuesday June 20, the chubby rapper explained intrigues that finally broke their popular Nairobi rap group that was on top of the game for years.
In his account, he detailed that his crew members and more so, Mejja, born Major Namaye Khadija, could not give room for experimentation during lyrics drafting and vocal recording sessions.
He noted that Mejja always wanted perfect music that could hit airwaves instantly because, for him, it is always about money.
“You know I may not know his full background but the little I know on him as my friend is that he is the breadwinner who does music for income all the time.
“At his home, he is the breadwinner and provides for all his siblings including parents,” he added.
Madtraxx, however said, in contrast, he (Madtraxx) does music sometimes to elevate the game by trying different sounds.
“Mejja wanted every track to look like Nyongwa; and this explains why our other track No Woman no Cry almost missed a video because Mejja loved the audio but insisted that no reason to shoot the video. This created some brief tiff among the members,” he divulged.
The Kansoul break up came as a surprise as it was at the top of the game in the country with bookings all through the weekends.
It comprised, Madraxx, Mejja and Kid Kora who joined them after a year.
