Monday, June 26, 2023 –Special Committee at the Senate has today upheld impeachment charges against Siaya County Deputy Governor, William Oduol.
In the sitting held today Monday June 26 afternoon, the committee found that the allegations of gross violation of the Constitution, abuse of office and gross misconduct had fully been substantiated.
Making the ruling, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi suspended the House for 30 minutes to give room for Senators to acquaint themselves with the contents of the report.
The embattled Siaya Deputy Governor arrived at Senate to follow the proceedings that finally found him answerable over misconduct following his bitter fallout with Governor James Aggrey Orengo.
Homenews.co.ke has since learnt that the Senate special Committee approved 2 key charges against him, hence upholding his impeachment. His fate now lies with Senators who will vote on each charge.
