Tuesday, June 27, 2023 –Royal Media Services RMS proprietor billionaire Samuel Kamau Macharia or S.K Macharia, today, met with President William Ruto in a hours long meeting at the Statehouse, Nairobi.
In a reliable news source communication, President William Ruto is the one who allowed Macharia, a close confidant of the Azimio leader, to turn up at the Statehouse.
Most of the Ruto’s allies, however, could not believe or understand why the head of State allowed the person who has been supporting Raila Odinga to access the House on the Hill.
“I was not privy to the talks, but SK Macharia’s meeting with the President was their personal affair. After all, many people do come to Statehouse,” the source stated.
And when photos of Macharia emerged from the Statehouse today Tuesday June 27 evening, many Kenyans from both divides started speculating the likelihood of another Handshake.
Mr. Emmanuel Talam who works in the William Ruto’s communication team, when reached for confirmation, said the media owner S.K Macharia was at the Statehouse for an undisclosed business.
Asked about this further, Mr. Talam said his photo with Macharia was out of his admiration for the successful media guru and investor.
“I only took a photo with him because I knew him from my days at the Roya Media Services where I began my career,” Mr. Talam confessed.
Talam, the Press Secretary of the Presidential Communication Service (PCS), added that it fails to make sense when media is mentioned without adding the name Macharia to it.
It is remembered that the William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza camp had many reservations with the coverage of last general election.
More than once, the camp accused the S.K Macharia-owned media house of propagating propaganda on them so that their rival Raila Odinga could beat them in the August 9 polls.
Macharia would, however, defend that his media company was independent from his political affiliation.
Billionaire Macharia owns Royal Media Services RMS that houses Citizen Tv, Hot 96 FM, Ramogi Tv and radio, Mulembe FM radio among many other media outlets.
