Thursday, June 29, 2023 –Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Kalerwa Salasya has today met with Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi in his Nairobi office.
Making these revelations today Thursday June 29, MP Salasya noted that his visit to the government official was informed by their deafening silence on the plight of Western Kenya people.
In the post seen by Homenews.co.ke, Salasya claimed that he was forced to start visiting each Luhya leader so that to assess their mind on Mumias Sugar Company.
“This afternoon I have had fruitful discussions with chief cabinet secretary Hon Musalia W Mudavadi to discuss the plight facing Mumias Sugar,” he revealed their discussion.
Salasya added that, in their discussion with Mudavadi, he sought to understand both political goodwill and support from those in government and those not in government as long as they come from Western Region.
“I asked him for political support goodwill. For the first time I will be looking for political support from all leaders from Western part for political goodwill .
“The enemies including politicians who doesn’t want to see Mumias Sugar being revived are so many.
“I will approach all of them and those against I will bring them to the public notice,” the first time lawmaker added.
The MP, whose area of jurisdiction, is located, the once giant sugar miller, has not once claimed that former Kakamega Senator Cleopahs Malala has been sabotaging efforts to revive Mumias Sugar Company for political reasons.
Recently, he announced and declared Malala a persona-non-grata in his Mumias East area saying he was secretly blocking efforts by investors to breathe life into the Mumias machines.
He also took issue with Blogger Robert Alai whom he claimed had been hired by a rival miller to fight Mumias Company’s efforts to come back to its feet.
