He went on to describe Justice Mugure Thande’s orders as an open economic sabotage because it means government can nolonger raise taxes for its activities to carry on.
“CJ Martha Koome led judiciary looks like to be living in utopia, clueless & very incompetent plus being insensitive. I don’t know where Judiciary shall get the funds to facilitate their operations plus salary including buying 44M car for CJ Koome!” he wrote in a statement seen by this writer.
High Court, today Monday July 10, referred the Finance Bill Act case to the Chief Justice office to form a bench of judges to listen and determine the case.
The said matter was filed by Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah who wanted sections in the Bill repealed citing irregularities.
And in the proceedings, Justice Thande established that the matter had weight and needed to be determined in a manner that does not expose the helpless citizen to the punitive taxing measures.
She described defense by the government as not sufficient to warrant the lifting of earlier orders on the matter that has since recorded increased public interest.
