Tuesday, July 12, 2023 –Police officers kept vigil outside Raila Odinga’s Karen residence in Nairobi from morning to noon.

The scenes were spotted on Wednesday July 12 with protests scattered across the country to pile pressure on William Ruto’s government to lower the cost of living.

Homenews.co.ke also learnt that rowdy youth in Mlolongo vandalized the Express-way barrier as kilometers away in Nyeri County, transport remained paralysed as PSV drivers and touts held demonstrations over the high cost of fuel.

In another update, a Raila supporter ‘kimbi kimbi’ suspected to have shared a video on social media allegedly asking  “Baba’ to go to Russia and bring guns has been detained for seven days pending investigations.

In Nanyuki, Homenews.co.ke did a spot check and established that striking matatu operators engaged in a football game at the Nanyuki Main Stage.

This was happening even as hundreds of protestors blocked sections of Waiyaki Way at Kangemi Market in a demo led by Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi.

Streets in Kisumu remained deserted save for boda boda riders with very few passengers to ferry. At the Bus Terminus, a football match was ongoing along the Kisumu-Kakamega road, complete with a referee.

Still in Kiusmu, tens of protesting youth were spotted carrying a coffin as they chanted anti-government slogans.
