Thursday December 31, 2020 -Twenty names of those willing to run for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat have been released.
Homenews.co.ke has just seen the full list showing Jubilee Party having a total of five names among them the Building Bridges Initiative Co-Chairman Dennis Waweru and Business lady Agnes Kagure. Also in the list are Jubilee’s Betty Adera, Alex Kemboi and Habib Kongo.
According to Kenyans.co.ke blog, Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party did not submit any names for the top seat.
Just afew days ago, ODM Chairman John Mbadi clarified that their party will not be competing for the city top seat but that they will be supporting anybody from their Jubilee friends.
“We still have until January 4, next year to field candidates. You have to engage all stakeholders and agree on the best way forward,” Junet said in contradiction to Mbadi’s sentiments.
Our sources have also whispered that 14 interdependent candidates had also submitted their names and who included Former Kiambu boss Ferdinand Waititu, Phyllis Wangari and Mr. Noah Migullo.
Waititu, unfortunately, may not vie after the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati stopped his candidature saying any impeached person will not be left to run.
In the list of Nairobi contestants are also names of Eric Mokua who is coming on a Kenyan Social Congress Party ticket.
DP William Ruto’s linked United Democratic Alliance UDA has also not fielded any candidate for the Nairobi race. Same to Thirdway Alliance which was almost fronting Lawyer Miguna Muguna.
Interestingly, former Starehe MP Bishop Margret Wanjiru is not also featuring anywhere on the long list even after rumours were rife that she would be running alongside former Town Clerk Mr. Philip Kisia.
