Thursday, July 20, 2023 –President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua have maintained their firm stand that they will not be engaging in any kind of talks with the opposition.

Addressing supporters in Isiolo County where they toured today Thursday July 20, the duo established that they were not ready to engage in sideshows with the opposition despite the ongoing demonstrations.

President Ruto used the opportunity to state that the people of Kenya had made clear their stand against those hellbent on causing chaos in the country.

He added that they had also made clear what they want in relation to the destruction of property and instructed law enforcers to help control further destruction of property.

“The people of Kenya have spoken loudly that they do not want chaos, anarchy or property to be destroyed. And when the people of Kenya have spoken it is like God has spoken,” President Ruto said.

His deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, thanked the police for taking control of the protests saying they had reduced damages this time around.

“We have a mandate to lead this country for five years. We will not allow other outsiders to enter our government through shortcuts.
“Thank you, Minister Kithure Kindiki and all the police officers for protecting the property of Kenyans during the ongoing protests,” Gachagua stated.

He instructed them to continue working diligently so that to keep everyone safe amid escalated chaos from the opposition.

CS Kindiki in Turkana County, to operationalize Lokichogio Sub-County and install the first Deputy County Commissioner.

The president was on his way to launch the newly-constructed Isiolo-Marsabit-Addis Ababa Highway just a day after he also held a similar address in Kerocho and Narok counties.

The two rallied residents to join the ruling party United Democratic Alliance UDA.
