Monday, July 31, 2023 –Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly MCA Robert Alai has claimed that Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua is falling out with a section of Azimio la Umoja leaders.
Taking to his Twitter Handle on Monday July 31, Alai blasted Karua for what he described as underperformance in Azimio politics.
He added that Martha Karua under-performed in the last general election and she ought to admit her shortcomings that costed Azimio the presidency.
In what he wrote on his socials, Alai revealed that there were ongoing inhouse wrangles with Karua now proposing that Eugene Wamalwa should not be part of the Bipartisan talks pitting Azimio against William Ruto’s government.
“Martha Karua and Rigathi Gachagua are the same team with the same Mission. Yaani Martha Karua wants Eugene Wamalwa off the talks team while she couldn’t even deliver a stream in her home polling station? Eugene, junior politically to her, delivered much more,” MCA Alai claimed.
His remarks coming at the time President William Ruto and his rival Raila Odinga have finally agreed to sit down and talk on their differences.
Ruto met former Prime Minister Raila Odinga last Friday July 28 in the presence of former Nigerian head of State Olusegun Obasanjo.
They agreed to come up with 5 aside team that they termed ‘extra-parliamentary committee’ which will be looking into, among other issues, the reconstitution of IEBC, noninterferance with political parties and coalitions among other issues.
President Ruto, on the other hand, has rejected any attempts by Mr. Odinga to discuss the cost of living during the talks.
Ruto has said, cost of living is key in their agenda as the ruling party, and he is already working towards addressing the crisis in his capacity as the president of the republic.
